A Look Back at the Time Ronda KO’d Bethe Correia in 32 Seconds

Ronda has always been a fierce competitor, but she showed a different edge during the build-up to her UFC 190 fight against Bethe Correia.

She entered the fight riding an 11-fight winning streak and had successfully defended her UFC title five times, but this fight meant much more than just keeping the belt.

Prior to their fight, Correia talked a whole lot of trash and a few of her comments got incredibly personal. Ronda didn’t need any more motivation to hand out a beatdown, but after what Correia said, Ronda definitely had extra fuel for the fire.

In addition to those comments, Correia also bragged about defeating Ronda’s fellow Horsewomen. Throwing wins over Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir in Ronda’s face, she felt that was proof she could overcome Rousey when the two stood toe-to-toe.

That proved to be flawed logic because when the two met at UFC 190, Ronda knocked Correia out in just 34 seconds. This was another example of Ronda’s growing confidence in her standup.

After the fight, Rousey dedicated her victory to “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, who passed away the day before the fight.
