A Candid Look Behind Ronda Rousey’s Royal Rumble Return

Justin Golightly

Back in 2018, Ronda Rousey shocked the world by strutting down the ramp at the Royal Rumble and pointing at that infamous sign. What followed was a groundbreaking YouTube series following Ronda’s rampage to WrestleMania 35 filled with dozens of laid-out security guards, police chaos, and wars with half the women’s roster. Now, she’s back for another gauntlet of destruction. And so is Ronda on the Road.

Draped in an orange children’s blanket, Ronda once again flew incognito to another Royal Rumble with the Jackass crew. Steve-O took portraits, Johnny Knoxville wore a crown and coronated himself King of the WWE, Ronda and Travis played peekaboo with Pō. All the weight of returning to wrestling only 4-months postpartum hid by giggles and butterflies proceeding violence.

That’s one of the many scenes that makes Ronda on the Road special. Renowned cinematographer Cynthia Vance captured Ronda switching from breastfeeding, to putting on war makeup and donning her new all-black and silver ring attire. After the pyro fizzles out and bells stop ringing, this is the only place to see Ronda reflect on what happened. Not behind a curtain speaking into a WWE mic, but comforting her baby and talking from the heart.

It’s the same journey as before, but different in a million ways. Ronda’s the same tenacious warrior but as a new mom with another WrestleMania at the end. You can only follow this next amazing chapter of Ronda on the Road right here. Like, subscribe, and get ready for a ride.
