‘Total Divas’ Season 9, Episode 10: “The Next Wave”

“You know, I don’t know what the future holds. I’m playing it by ear, I guess. But I also know that no one ever truly retires from the WWE. So, I don’t know how long I’ll be able to resist that call back…”

Those were final words spoken in the season finale of Total Divas, “The Next Wave,” by Ronda Rousey herself. After a successful hand surgery and a surprise party thrown by her castmates and colleagues, Ronda officially closed the book on this particular chapter of her career.

Of course, as she even suggested, there’s no telling when the follow-up chapter will begin.

“The Next Wave” saw all of the cast members reflect on this past season, from the ups and downs, to where they think the future might take them. It also featured Sonya Deville telling her girlfriend Arianna she loves her—and making the decision to move from Ft. Lauderdale to Tampa, to be near her—and the girls surprising Liv Morgan—who revealed she’d never been on a vacation before this Maui trip—by flying in her mother to join in on the fun.

The Total Divas season finale also saw another successful surgery on Nia Jax’s end, with her double ACL surgery post-WrestleMania, as well as Trinity (WWE’s Naomi) finally making it to Maui for the final day of the Total Divas girl trip.

But most importantly, Sonya and Natalya also ended up squashing their beef, with Sonya reminding Natalya (and really, all of us) that she was there to witness the greatest moment in Total Divas: the moment Natalya rubbed peanut butter all over herself to get Roadie to love her.
