‘Total Divas’ Season 9, Episode 9: “Hawaiian Punch”
On the penultimate episode of this season of Total Divas, things were all about the immediate aftermath of WrestleMania. For Ronda Rousey, that meant dealing with the broken hand suffered in the main event of WrestleMania—
—and heading to Las Vegas to begin the “impregnation vacation” with Travis Browne, as well as attend their friend Ricky’s wedding (where Travis served as the officiant).
For Nia Jax, that meant finally getting her double knee surgery. For Natalya (along with the rest of her family), that meant spreading her late father’s ashes in the perfect spot in New York.
It also meant partying in Maui, because this is Total Divas, after all.
Because of the broken hand, friend’s wedding, and it officially being “babymaking time,” Ronda wasn’t part of the Maui girls trip that had Natalya planned. Plus, after competing in the main event of WrestleMania, Ronda was in the mindset for moving on to the next step, because like she said:
“I spilled out every single fiber of my being into that match. I gave this industry everything that I had for this past year. And I’ve broken my hand before—I know what it’s like. And it was worth it. All of it.”
However, the next step (which, again, was making babies) was definitely not the easiest thing to get started on during Ronda and Travis’ Vegas trip. There was some tension between the two, as, instead of relaxing, Travis was on his phone non-stop, doing everything he could to make sure Ricky’s wedding went down perfectly. Spoiler alert: It did, and even before that, everything else turned out well for Ronda and Travis.
In Maui, Carmella and Nikki Bella resolved the issues created by Nia Jax’s drama all season…
…but there was other drama when it came to Natalya and Sonya Deville. Things started off awkwardly as Sonya was the only person to bring her significant other (her girlfriend Arianna) to Maui, despite Natalya apparently telling everyone not to, and they only snowballed more when Sonya confronted Natalya multiple times about never including her when talking about potential future champions in WWE (despite always mentioning Sonya’s tag team partner and best friend, Mandy Rose).
Will things be resolved between those two in the Total Divas season finale? Probably. Especially when they have to deal with more important things, like the fact that Natalya revealed to everyone on the girls trip that Ronda told her she is officially done with WWE.
But there’s only one way to truly find out what happens next…
