Ronda Rousey Finally Gets Her Cast Off

A whole new hand

You probably remember—and if not, you can always go back and watch the Ronda on the Road episode or check out Ronda’s most recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert—that during the main event of WrestleMania 35, Ronda Rousey broke her right hand. No, it wasn’t the table getting revenge after she’d declared that tables were “for bitches,” but I can understand why you’d think that. Eagle-eyed viewers of the main event (only on the WWE Network), on the other hand, should be able to tell when exactly the moment happened. (And why that moment is another reason Becky Lynch and Ronda have unfinished business.)

So, as a result of said hand-breaking, Ronda’s post-WrestleMania hiatus from WWE (aka her “impregnation vacation”) came with the parting gifts of surgery and a big ol’ cast.

But fast forward to the end of May, and Ronda was finally ready to get her cast—as well as the pins that were holding her knuckle together, keeping it tight—removed. Yes, she then had to switch to wearing a brace—baby steps—but at least she could take that one off whenever she wanted to. Like when she wanted to scratch her hand, which is luxury you never really think about until you can’t do it anymore.

WIth her younger sister Julia DeMars in tow as videographer (and summer intern), Ronda was able to chronicle all of this for the Rowdy Ones. When all is said and done, you might just learn a thing or two about bones. And you’ll get to see a sweet surprise to wrap it all up.

Warning: This video actually shows Ronda having her pins removed from her knuckle as well as close-ups of her hand in the aftermath. If you don’t want to see that (or at least want to cover your eyes during it), for reference, this occurs at 4:58-5:37 in the video.
