RAW: “I Came Here to Fight”

On this week’s RAW, Alexa Bliss came out to host a discussion (but not a “forum”) between the two female Superstars who will be facing off for the RAW Women’s Championship at TLC: RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and the challenger Nia Jax. But before Bliss could really even give a speech (and you know she loves a good speech), Nia Jax and Tamina came out and interrupted her. And once they were in the ring, Nia Jax decided it was time for her to “make a statement.” (Alexa Bliss literally said zero words after they came the ring, which has to be some sort of a record.) Nia’s statement? Well, it was one about how she’ll become the RAW Women’s Champion on Sunday, “at the direct expense of Ronda Rousey.”

Nia then got personal, saying that getting hit in the head back in UFC must have really messed with Ronda Rousey’s sense of logic. Because if Rousey “had half a brain”—and just to be clear, Nia’s argument was that Rousey doesn’t—then she’d come to the ring immediately and just lay the RAW Women’s Championship at Nia’s feet. Sure, Jan.

But not everything Nia had to say was ludicrous:

“I don’t talk trash. I am a 6 foot tall, 300 pound, Samoan woman.”

Fair point. She went on to call herself Ronda Rousey’s “nightmare,” as well as “the embodiment of the anti-Rousey.” And just to remind everyone once again why we’re all so anti-Nia Jax in the first place, she once again brought up how she broke “little miss Becky Lynch’s face” with just one punch. In fact, she promised that she’d do the same to Rousey at TLC, only it won’t just be one punch. Instead, she’ll punch the champ “over and over and over and over again”… to the point that “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” will somehow tap out as a result of all the punching. Then she started screaming (like she did last week), before claiming she would erase “the myth” of Ronda Rousey on Sunday.

That finally brought the RAW Women’s Champion out to let her opponent know one simple thing:

“I did not come here to hit my poses and talk about fighting. I came here to fight.”

With that, “true champion” Ronda Rousey immediately hit the ring, and Tamina and Nia also immediately scattered out of it. They then attempted to Shield things up by surrounding the ring, but Ember Moon came out to back Rousey up. And to face Tamina in singles competition (while Rousey and Nia were both at ringside).

During the match, it eventually got to the point where Rousey had to get rid of Nia… and oh how she did. And in leveling the playing field, Ember Moon was able to focus and put Tamina away with the Eclipse.
