NXT: The Evolution of Shayna Baszler

“The world has evolved. Women’s wrestling has evolved. And at WWE Evolution, Kairi Sane is gonna know: Shayna Baszler has evolved.”

There’s been something of a change in Shayna Baszler these past couple of weeks on NXT TV. The former NXT Women’s Champion has gone from lashing out at the current NXT Women’s Champion, Kairi Sane, for the results of their NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV title match to taking a somewhat more… accepting approach.

Now, Baszler admits that she “got too comfortable” against Kairi Sane at Brooklyn, so now it’s time to go back to basics: It’s back to fight camp.

“It’s difficult to describe what I thought of Kairi at the Mae Young Classic and what I think of Kairi now because I think I’ve changed so much that even my mentality doesn’t think the same. I got too comfortable in there. Going into a fight camp—a training camp—has always been what we’ve always done. And going into a training camp is far more grueling than anything those girls in that NXT locker room have ever been through.”

Baszler’s intimidation factor may not work on Sane, but as mentioned last week, a cool, calm, and collected Baszler is somehow even scarier. Who could have imagined?
