Ronda Challenges Charlotte Flair to an “I Quit” Match at WrestleMania Backlash

Rowdy Staff

It’s been a heavy week, Rowdy Ones. It seems like years, but it was only a week ago Ronda took a flush big boot to her unsuspecting chin after both tapping out Charlotte Flair and pinning her. If the ref wasn’t unconscious and incredibly fragile, we’d have a new SmackDown Women’s Champion. But no… Flair had to Flair it up. Even with shenanigans abound at WrestleMania, Ronda took responsibility for what happened. “I tapped her out but not when it counted.”

So a rematch had to be set. But with what stipulation? At Survivor Series, Flair pulled out a kendo stick and got disqualified. She cheated her way to a win at WrestleMania and pulled out every stop in order to live to the end of the match. What could they do for the trilogy? Cage match?

Cut to the Titantron where Charlotte Flair has the gall to tell Ronda to “go to the back of the line” when Ronda draws the line. She’s the reason the line is there. It’s like Flair is trying to bide time constantly. To artificially extend her title reign which we know is already a dead title walking. But what needs to happen? Ronda had an idea:

An “I quit” match.

Charlotte is always running her mouth, so Ronda needs verbal confirmation from the champ that she won the match at WrestleMania Backlash. Unfortunately, the usual remote-broadcast Flair had nothing but laughs.

But when Ronda says, “Charlotte, this match will happen. And I’m not going to make you say ‘I quit’ I’m going to make you scream it while I bend your elbow backwards,” she means it. What a scary thing to have someone say to you: promising to bend your body in ways they aren’t meant to be. Especially when they’re an expert at bending bodies in ways they aren’t meant to be.
