SmackDown: Arrested Development

This week’s RAW included a dramatic incident in which all three competitors in the WrestleMania 35 main event (Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch) were arrested. This week’s SmackDown LOVE saw one of them return to show that she is “The Man” of the people.

After The Miz defeated Sanity in a Falls Count Anywhere match that ended in a parking lot, viewers saw a police car pull up and Becky Lynch walk into the arena. Following an announcement by Corey Graves that “all three women were released from the precinct today of their own recognizance,” Lynch entered the ring wearing a t-shirt with the mug shot from her previous arrest.

Standing on an announce table, Lynch recapped her past year. She said before WrestleMania 34 it felt like the stars were aligning for Flair vs. Rousey, one-on-one, at the 35th iteration of the pay-per-view. But instead, Lynch fought her way to the status of WrestleMania main eventer along with both of the other women.

Lynch concluded her positive speech on its most optimistic note, saying the next time the SmackDown audience sees her, she’ll be a double champ, and…

“…the real revolution that started last year at SummerSlam with a slap is going to explode this Sunday when the winner takes all and I make one of them dopes tap.”

Considering each woman’s drive to get this victory on the highest profile platform of their WWE careers, plus their considerable wrestling abilities, it’s hard to guess who will walk away from WrestleMania 35 with both belts. One thing we know for sure is that Becky Lynch thinks it’ll be her.
