“Four Horsewomen for life!”
Let’s just get this out of the way first: Ronda Rousey was not in the women’s Royal Rumble match this year. Yes, being in a Royal Rumble match is still on her wrestling bucket list, but she’s going to have to check it off at a later date. So, sorry to everyone who thought she’d be in this year’s match, despite her never saying she was going to be in the match.
But you know who was in the women’s Royal Rumble match at this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view? Ronda’s fellow Four Horsewoman and former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna “Shayna 2 Time” Baszler. “The Queen of Spades” made her Royal Rumble match debut this past Sunday, coming in at the #30 spot and making a total of eight eliminations. (With eight eliminations, she tied her fellow NXT Superstar Bianca Belair—who set the record in this very match—for the new women’s Royal Rumble match elimination record.) Baszler ended up being one of the last two competitors in the entire match, falling only to the winner of the whole shebang and another woman Ronda knows quite well, Charlotte Flair.
While Ronda wasn’t in Houston, TX to witness her friend make history in-person, she (alongside Chunk the dog!) did watch it all unfold from the comfort of Browsey Acres (only on the WWE Network). And, well, you can watch Ronda’s reaction to all of it below.
“Passionate” is one way to describe it. (And yes, she had and still has much love for her girl Natalya too.) Another way to describe it is “inappropriate to watch with or near younglings.” Seriously, there is a lot of explicit language in this one. All in the name of love for a friend and sheer excitment, but still: The f-bombs were flying at Browsey Acres on Sunday night.
