The World’s Most Devastating Pro Wrestling Moves: Chickenwing Facebuster
Move type: Takedown
Notably used by: Jazz, Beth Phoenix
Today’s move is the Chickenwing Facebuster, which was used as a finisher by two of WWE’s most powerful female wrestlers: Jazz and Beth Phoenix.
In the video above, you can see Phoenix use her version of the move—the “Glam Slam”—to defeat a local competitor on an episode of SmackDown. Standing behind her opponent and facing the same direction, she first hooks both of her opponent’s arms behind her back and lifts her up in an elevated double chickenwing. Then she transitions into the facebuster part of the move by slamming her opponent down on the mat face-first.
While Phoenix does the sit out version of this move, Jazz’s intimidating and effective “Bitch Clamp” is a straight up Chickenwing Facebuster. As you can see in the video above, remaining on her feet allows Jazz to take out multiple opponents with this move if she needs to.
Though it didn’t end up becoming a signature part of her , we saw WWE’s current female , Nia Jax, use this move on Bayley during a match on RAW in July 2017.
