Daniel Cormier Checks in on Ronda and They Have a Fascinating Conversation

Rowdy Staff

After Daniel Cormier was kind enough to spend some time with Ronda and the No DNB Productions crew at American Kickboxing Academy for Rowdy’s Places, the Rowdy One reciprocated one interview for another on DC’s YouTube channel. What transpired was an awesome interview that only these two could have with each other. Fellow Olympians, UFC Hall of Fame inductees, and long-time friends, it’s worth watching every minute of this interview, Rowdy Ones.

In the interview, Ronda and Daniel talked about the challenges of the fight business, and things got real. They discussed how hard it is to be in the world of MMA, especially at the top, and know when to walk away. Ronda said:

“I think to be at that top level, you kind of have to be a people-pleaser. You want to please your coach, you want to please your parents, you want to please everybody watching. It’s one of the things that make you excel, but it’s one of those things that… it can be an obstacle a lot of times.”

Ronda also reiterated the fact that she was supposed to return as a heel. Something astute Rowdy Ones already know from watching Ronda on the Road Season 2.

“I was expecting that! I came out with my guard up, and I think I didn’t get to enjoy that moment, because…that’s what I got on the way out.”

“I blocked them out and I didn’t let them in. And I just went in and did my job and got out, and I think I kind of missed out on really enjoying that moment because I was expecting the worst in people. And that’s how the WWE Universe gets you.”

We suggest watching the entire interview. It’s great to see two friends comfortable with each other and opening up about things they are absolute experts on. Like wrestling and fighting.
