Ronda Rousey And Shayna Baszler Unify The WWE And NXT Tag Titles!

Rowdy Staff

They did it. Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler have once again made history. This time by unifying the NXT and WWE tag titles and ushering in a new era of team-based squared circle savagery. It feels nice, but it wasn’t easy.

Let’s give them credit, amidst the big fight feel and high-stakes history-making around this match, NXT’s Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn were annoying dangerous thorns in Ronda and Shayna’s sides. They put up a formidable effort to start the match and in fact, it seemed like the NXT invaders had little respect for what Ronda and Shayna represent as cross-sport badasses. They gained the advantage early, double teaming Ronda and keeping Shayna isolated in the corner.

Then Ronda nearly pulled off a reverse hurricanrana and we went to commercial break. When we were back, our Rowdy one had her typical smirk and was making easy work of Dawn. Shayna and Fyre had some stiff back and forth, which ended with Fyre’s knees embedded in Shayna’s chest, then all of a sudden a tornado of offense blitzed through the ring and Shayna and Ronda both caught their opponents in their signature submissions for the quick taps. Boom. History made. Again.

Then Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan had to go and ruin everyone’s night again.

Looks like they’ll be defending these new unified titles this weekend at Money in the Bank.
