From MMA to WWE, Mike Tyson’s History of Rousey Fandom

You know you’re the “Baddest Woman on the Planet” when the “Baddest Man on the Planet” is a fan of yours. And that’s certainly the case for current WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and one of her biggest public supporters, Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson is considered one of the most feared boxers of all-time and has found great success as an entertainer over the last decade, an amazing career transition that Ronda Rousey has also accomplished in her own way. From judo to MMA, MMA to Hollywood, and Hollywood to the WWE, Ronda Rousey has managed to brighten her star at every stop.

That’s why Mike Tyson was one of the many people excited to see Rousey’s in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34.

“That’s going to be exciting,” Tyson said of Rousey’s tag team match (alongside Kurt Angle) against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. “I think she’s going to do well.”

Mike Tyson has been a supporter of Ronda for quite some time. Tyson was a happy spectator at a Ronda training session in 2015 and spoke openly of his admiration for her work ethic.

Tyson has been along for the ride with Rousey, and it’s great to see that his support continues after all this time. Like all fans, he can now follow Ronda weekly, as she continues her exciting run as the RAW Women’s Champion. And maybe—just maybe—we will one day see Mike Tyson in Ronda’s corner for a WrestleMania match.

“I’m always willing to come back. I love the WWE … I’d love to be back,” Tyson said.
