Ronda And Shayna Are Your New Tag Champs!

It’s been a few weeks since Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler made their presence known on the RAW brand by busting up the face of Raquel Rodriguez. Wisely, the powers-that-be set up a Fatal Four-Way match for the vacant women’s tag titles Rodriguez and the oft-injured Liv Morgan once held and now – FINALLY – our Ronda and Shayna team have gold around their waists.

In place of Morgan for Rodriguez’s team – Shotzi is the latest in the musical chair tag partner sweepstakes for the admittedly dangerous Rodriguez, but Ronda and Shayna have beaten her so many times – it’s no sweat. Former champs Damage CTRL: Bayley, IYO SKY, Sonya Deville, and Chelsea Green wouldn’t make this easy for our favorite badass duo.

To start, Raquel Rodriguez looked STRONG. And it helped that her partner in Shotzi was willing to throw her body everywhere. Like their WrestleMania match (which they won), Ronda and Shayna kept on the periphery and let the other teams tire each other out.

Eventually, Ronda made her way in, stretched Shotzi, then tagged in Shayna who kept cranking the arm of the green-haired daredevil. Rodriguez came back in and unfortunately, threw around Shayna, until Ronda was able to get in and lock an armbar onto Rodriguez – until Bayley broke it up with an elbow from the top rope.

After a bunch of chaos that looked like a car wreck made out of knee-high boots and halter tops, somehow Ronda tags in off of IYO SKY and is the legal person in the match with Shotzi. They tangle with SKY and fly off the top rope in a powerbomb/suplex/DDT maneuver that wrecks just about everyone until Shotzi gets back to the top and tries for a senton, but lands right in Ronda’s waiting armbar. Tap tap tap. We’ve got new, rightful tag champs. Finally!
