Ronda on the Road: Sporting The Judo Gi at WWE Elimination Chamber

If Ronda has to cover up, she’s going to cover up in style. As soon as she got word of a full-body cover-up from Saudi Arabia at WWE Elimination Chamber, Ronda went straight to the legendary chest and took out her trusty, blue Mizuno judo gi. The same gi that she won an Olympic bronze medal in. It was a wave of nostalgia that reminded her of a similar outfit decision from her very first WWE appearance.

“The gi I kind of equate to the ‘Over 9000’ shirt. When I was first about to go out in it I’m like, this shirt’s awesome, right? And everyone’s like, ‘Yeah, it’s great, whatever,’ Ronda laughed. “Afterwards the online reception was huge. I got a similar reaction [at Elimination Chamber]. I’m wearing my gi, guys! ‘Cool.’ It’s my real judo gi, I competed in it! ‘Uh huh.’ Nobody was really excited about it as I was but it was cool to see online everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, her judo gi,’ and I’m like, that’s what I was saying! So, it was a little validation to how excited I was about it.”

The internet definitely was excited, made evident by the active retweet fest of Photoshops from fans putting her infamous stomp into various situations. Watch the latest episode of Ronda on the Road and hear her talk all about the gi, what’s going on right now in her life on tour, and how obsessed she became with coffee and dates in Jeddah with complete disregard for her digestive tract.
