WWE Elimination Chamber: Ronda Rousey (With One Arm) and Naomi Defeat Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville

Rowdy Staff

Something is different about this latest run in the WWE by Ronda Rousey. Obviously, she’s now a mother, but she’s also a veteran. Before, the WWE Universe consumed her, but now: There is a perspective and a list of people to beat up.

Ronda Rousey is now ignoring everyone and has all eyes on Charlotte Flair. And if anyone gets in her way, someone like Sonya Deville, even with her power over the Smackdown roster, will feel the pain. All the pain… and then Ronda will mock you by tying an arm behind her back, donning her judo gi, and kicking ass in a WWE ring.

The arm tied behind the back stipulation was indeed funny, because it was supposed to make things “fair” between Ronda and Deville. But of course, Sonya’s been faking (or at least playing up) the injury for at least a week.

But when Deville threw off her arm sling, Ronda could only smile, and then throw up an impressive amount of one-armed offense, including an awesome step-up knee to Deville’s smug face. There was even a rare Rousey kick:

But the momentum shifted, and Deville and Charlotte were able to prevent Ronda from making a hot tag on Naomi, methodically beating her down and using that damn rope (used to tie her arm behind her back) to keep from getting help from her teammate.

After a desperate struggle, Naomi finally got in the ring and kicked a bit of ass, but like we saw two Smackdowns ago, Charlotte was better, and her team’s four hands to their three seemed like too much of an advantage to overcome. Until Ronda, of course.

Ronda may not have gotten her hands on Charlotte, but she made damn sure that Sonya was back in a sling (for real this time) over the next few weeks. On to WrestleMania.
