If you’ve followed Browsey Acres for the past year, you know it has been Ronda and Trav’s goal to be live completely sustainably. From their land to their food, they’ve slowly marched towards the end game of building a home for when the sky falls. Now, they’ve gotten even closer.

Travis built a water catchment system that siphons rainwater and collects them into giant tanks. These tanks can hold up to 10,000 gallons of water that would have otherwise just flowed away. Now that water can be utilized right there to benefit the homestead.

While the collected rainwater isn’t fit yet for use in the home, it is perfect for irrigating pasture to transform Browsey Acre’s Mars-like surface into a green paradise. Once another catchment unit is built, one of those can be converted with a filtration system that will make the water clean for drinking and showering. All completely off-grid.

2020 promises to be a huge year for Browsey Acres and you can follow along with each milestone right here, on our YouTube channel and also the official Instagram of Ronda and Trav’s farm!
